Description
Mulberry Silk, also known as Bombyx Silk.
To make a cap the cocoons are degummed and then stretched by hand over a domed mold, each layer is one cocoon. Each cap weighs about 1/2 oz and consists of many layers which can be pulled apart to work with. Use these for dyeing, spinning, nuno felting and papermaking. Spins with a wonderful texture and is lovely woven too.
Raised in captivity, the silk worms are only fed mulberry leaves which gives the supper shinny, top quality white silk. Top A grade silk.
